Welcome to the United States Ski and Snowboard Association, the national governing body for competitive skiing and snowboarding. The USSA offers competition programs for aspiring athletes of all ages and ability levels.

Your USSA club or coach may have told you that you need a USSA membership in order to participate in certain events. The USSA's Member Service Department, your club or coach will help you obtain the membership that's right for your level of competition.

To become a USSA member and be eligible to participate in USSA competitions, simply click here to register online. Your online USSA athlete registration will be immediate.  Note: Coach and official memberships may require successful background screening prior to activation.

Applications are also available for those who wish to register by mail or fax. Forms are specific to each sport (alpine, freestyle, snowboard, cross country, and jumping/nordic combined), so be sure to choose the proper form.

Applications submitted by mail or fax may take several weeks for processing. Once your membership has been processed, you may download proof of membership from the Member Lookup tool.

Here are a few quick steps to guide you through the paper application:

• Click here to download the application for your sport. For more on USSA membership categories and fees, click here.
• Make sure the application is complete, including insurance information and a signed waiver, prior to submission.
• If you do not have primary medical insurance, complete the Medical Exception Agreement provided on the application page noted above and return with your application.
• Include the correct payment for the membership, plus any division or state dues  or processing fees that may apply (new members are not subject to USSA late fees or division/state late fees).

You may download verification of membership from Member Lookup. Enter your first and last name, then click ENTER or FIND. If processed, the membership number will be highlighted. Then simply click on the highlighted membership number and print.
